Re: Football Manager 2010 : Thu Aug 26, 2010 9:43 pm
I've not been on for a while, so decided to start a new game with Tottenham in hope that i can lead them to the top. Only just started the game, and i've chose to gain continental qualification through league position, as i am confident that is possible.

I've only completed pre-season, and so far i've signed:

IN
Juan Roman Riquelme (£3Million)
Fernando Gago (£4.8Million - Installments)
Jack Rodwell (£15million - Installments)

Out
Kyle Walker (Loan)
Dorian Dervite (Loan)
John Bostock (Loan)

I usually go mad in the transfer window but i've bought just what i needed this time around. I've not really sold anyone, but i believe i've strengthened the midfield quite a bit and added some experience and depth in there. I am looking to maybe sell Bentley and Jenas but no rush, if no-one wants them then its no problem as were in a good position to put up a good challenge. My only problem so far is the morale of my players seem quite bad, and was like that when i came to the club.

I have quite a few injured players to start the season, mainly defenders, the following are all injured:

Ledley King
Vedran Corluka
Johnathon Woodgate
Michael Dawson
Gareth Bale
Eidur Gudjohnson

Quite a crisis really to start the season but King and Corluka aren't too far away, with the rest a few months away. King got injured 3 times in pre-season, so thats quite realistic. My team to start the season is looking as follows:

Gomes

Corluka
Kaboul
Bassong
Assou-Ekotto

Gago (Defensive)
Modric (Attacking/play maker)

Lennon
Riquelme
Kranjcar

Defoe

Bench:

Cudicini
Rodwell
Huddlestone
Palacios
Bentley
Crouch
Pavlyuchenko

I'm going to try to get back into this after the completely unfair way I was treated following those two takeovers. I still feel bitter about it, really took it personally and against the game too.

Yeah, it was terrible. It was a few months ago and I can't even remember the circumstances. I was at a club, somewhere like Arsenal and doing really well, turning them from near relegation to champions. Then I was sacked after the club was taken over. I went somewhere else, can't really remember where and the same thing happened again. I haven't played the game since, I felt sick about it for weeks, like I'd been stabbed in the back.

I'll get it updated and start again tonight.

Re: Football Manager 2010 : Fri Aug 27, 2010 8:02 pm
Bit of a disastrous start to my Tottenham career to be honest. First 5 games of the season haven't got particularly well, although i couldn't have started the season much harder.

Arsenal 2 - 1 Tottenham.

I had Gago sent off after 36 minutes, and wa 2 down after 14 minutes, so in the end not all that bad of a result, but a loss.

Tottenham 1 - 1 Man United.

Played well, but went 1 goal down with only 10 minutes to go, Pavlyuchenko score a last mintue equaliser. Good result.

Tottenham 2 - 2 Nottingham Forrest (Tottenham win 6-5 on pens - League Cup).

Due to all the injuries i rested a few players for this game but the team that started were still good enough to win the game. Went 2 goals down in the first half, so i brought Modric and Defoe on for the second half, followed by Pavlyuchenko and managed to drag it back to 2-2, won on pens.

Tottenham 1 - 0 Portsmouth.

Rubbish performance, scored a late goal to just about win the game, a draw would have been a fair result.

Hull City 2 - 1 Tottenham.

Disaster happened here. On previous games i don't put a keeper on the bench, however for this season i have been doing with Cudicini. However, Gomes picked up an injury on international duty, only a small injury and probably could have played but i chose to rest him. Cudicini started the game and got injured in the 30th minute, when we were already 1-0 down, as Hull scored early. I had to put King in net, and we scored a penalty but then Hull scored a late winner, under the circumstances not bad, but games that we can't afford to lose. And now, just because King had to play the rest of the game in net, he is saying he isn't happy about the position hes been asked to play, how ridiculous.

Not a brilliant start, but a tough start especially the first two games, so hopefully we start to pick up, also starting to get some body's back.

Squad has changed again at Madrid, four new signings in important positions. Start of 6th season.

Will post new squad tomorrow, as I'm in work at 7 and really should get myself to bed.

The fixture list hasn't been too kind, was hoping for the first 6/8 weeks to be easy games to help the new lads gel in together. In the first 6 games, we had very strong looking Atletico and Barca sides at home, drawing 0-0 against Atletico and going down 1-0 against Barca, due to a terrible Ramos backpass at our end leaving Bojan an almost open goal and our finishing being awful up the top end. Sitting second on 13 points after 6 games, one behind at Aletico, one in front of Barca who have a game in hand.

Tweaking my player roles/duties slightly to try and help these new lads adapt a bit quicker.

Got bored down under and took over at Nott'm Forest when they were languishing in 23rd in the Championship. Got them upto 14th at the end of the season without buying any players apart from a young loanee centre half as back up.
Will look for a couple of new players and try and push for the play offs next year. Any ideas on who to sign?

Had started the 2014/15 season well at Spurs until I was thumped 4-1 by Man Utd (three late goals really but they deserved the win) and then lost in the last min away to Fiorentina in the CL. Should still get out the group though.

Side looks like this:

Ochoa (Akinfeev signed from Moscow for £5m but only arrives in Jan)

Behrami
Kacar
Godin
Bassong

Lennon
Palacios/Huddlestone
Gago
Bale

Berbatov/Crouch
Odamelek (regen) - Czech International aged about 21 and cost me £22m from Newcastle.
