Is it only me that likes to do the odd cheating on Football manager?

yes. why play if you're not playing properly? you're only cheating yourself.



the fact i saved the game before the champions league final means nothing. it was late on. there may have been a power cut in the next 15 minutes. or a herd of wild elephants may have stormed through my room destroying my pc and costing me the game.....

Taken my Forest team from 22nd place to joint 1st in 12months with hardly any changes. Level pegging with Wolves and 5points clear of third.

No, the FM forums are full of cheats. Everyone has ridiculous threads and make truly impossible signings.



I posted a thread about my lack of ability to sign pretty much anyone unless they were transfer listed. I got loads of messages back saying it was really easy.







Now, the only ones on there which are achieveable on the game are Neville and Pienaar.







Now, even with £0 up front and those figures over 48 months, they are way off. I bid £25m up front for Cardoza for example and it gets rejected and he signs for Chelsea or Barcelona every time. I bid £15m for Di Maria and again, no.



I hope in FM11 they remove the AI's liking of silly deals like £0 up front and £xm over 5 years. It's football not sofa retailing. There will always be the ability to 'add new manager' then transact between the two. For example adding a manager as Chelsea and signing Phil Neville for £45m and so on, but I find that one I did that it totally devalued the game and I lost interest in it.



Having said that, I understand why people do it. As Everton for example there is no quick way to succeed. To improve the squad you need to either play the extremely long game and sign future stars or sell your better players. I've found I'm able to add one or two better players per season.

I can see why you fooked it off for a bit after that. It's bad enough once but happening twice is not on, I'd have probably snapped the disk in frustration

(not that it would be needed if playing through steam!) I've never been lucky enough for a takeover so I've never come close to that experience. You pluck up the courage to get going again?

Yeah, I'm struggling along as Everton, hence the post above. Going alright, slowly (very) assembling a decent team, but I've just not got the finances to compete really. I might start another career lower down so at least I can achieve something and try to build up to a bigger club.

They're having a laugh, he loves Bayern and the club regard him as a key player

When I look through the list of players they said they had sold though, and the fees, it does look very dubious!

20 games into my first season with Darlington.

Played 20 Won 20 with a goal difference of +48.

I've managed to get Rhys Williams on loan from Boro and he's having a wow of a season so far. The little money I had went on the coaching team and a scout and most of my players have already improved quite a bit.

Highlight of the season so far has to be taking Leeds United to a replay in the 1st round of the cup then beating them 5-3. Hoping I'll get some money to spend when I go up (yes I'm that confident) and bring in some great looking youngsters my scouting team have recommended.

Champions

Well I'm in my 4th season with Liverpool. 3 Premiership titles so fair, 14 games in and 6 points clear at the top of the table with 11 wins, 3 draws and no losses. 41 goals scored, 9 conceded.



However, beyond my success in the league has not been replicated in cup competitions.

1 FA Cup, 3 Community Shields, 1 Champions League, 1 Super Cup, 1 World Club Champions.



But still a fair haul of silverware

Ive only just got the game and downloaded the updates but they didnt go on the game when i started it up, what am i doing wrong?

Try:



Main menu, then preferences, then click the display & sound tab.



Make sure the use skin cache box is unticked, and the always reload skin on confirm box is ticked.

its the only thing i could think of off the top of my head. when i edited some data i had problems getting the database i wanted to come on and had to do a few different things.



if it doesn't work i'll find the site that helped me sort it.



are you using the FM CD or have you installed via steam?

Middle of my second season with Bradford, sitting 5th in League One and through to the JPT Northern Final despite a glut of injuries up front.



When he's been fit, Cody Arnoux has been a real bargain from Everton.

I'm having trouble at the moment.



I've re-installed the game after a computer format using the offline version but when I try to launch the game I get a window telling me my free trial is over and asking me for a licence key.



I enter the one on the back of the manual but it says that it isn't recognised and shuts down.

Any ideas?

Got a new laptop so I have started a new game with Celtic. I have had an OK start to the season and my defence has been solid upto now. In my last game I beat Rangers 6-3 at Ibrox and are now 4 points behind them in the league. Currently I am now level on points with St Mirren but there is still a long way to go yet.

I can't do it.





Since I've reinstalled it I just can't get the team playing at all well. The tactics side of it is so complicated and there is very little feedback as to what the problem is in the first place. I feel like David Moyes





Currently playing as Bradford as running around mid table. I get smashed away, just lost 6-0 to Aldershot, despite having a back line featuring Fielding in goal, Spence, De Laet and Irikepen. Pretty much all the goals were scrappy affairs with balls up to their strikers ping-ponging about until someone lashed them in. I just don't know what to change to improve it.

Lost in the League 1 play-offs for the 2nd year running. Bugger. It's hard to get up for another season after that!

Dennis Sorensen from Cottbus is excellent for any Championship teams wanting a winger. Can cover the wide positions on both flanks and fill in as a striker. (Natural AMR)

Got no money in the transfer window and had a heap of injuries, but made a good start and after 8 games am 2nd in the table on GD. Out of both the Challenge Cup (lost on pens to Elgin) and the League Cup (lost 1-0 at Airdrie) though.
