I agree it's a bit of a strange one but £10m is a hell of a lot of money for an unproven player just look at the money we've splashed out in the past for the likes of Nani and Anderson who haven't kicked on like we thought they would do when they arrived. Ljajic has looked good from what i've seen of him playing for the Serbian u18s but from what i've seen the likes of Eikrem, Ajose, Brady, Petrucci, Morrison and Cleverly all look good enough to make it into the first team with in the next few years so maybe Fergies right when he says that after seeing him train with the squad he's not stood out
I agree, we do have some very good youngsters who play in a similar role to Llajic and there is no point wasting money we don't have. From what I've seen of him, he has looked quality, definitely a player I would love to see playing for United.
I don't have a problem with Fergie saying he aint stood out / is no better than we already have. My problem lies with the farcical manner the club has conducted itself over the whole affair.
If Llajic hadn't signed a contract with United, we shouldn't have paraded him around and made him feel as though he was a United player. And when deciding he wasn't what the club wanted, they should have had the common courtesy / professionalism to let the player and Partizan know before leaks to the press, and a statement wishing Llajic all the best in the future wouldn't have been too much to ask either.
