I don't think Perez was doing to badly with transfers for the first part of his reign. It all started to go wrong when he changed the policy of signing a world class player every summer, and bought Beckham instead of Ronaldinho.

Which played it's part in the toothy one going to the Camp Nou rather than Old Trafford.
Sandro Rosell had a big part to play in that.

Well he's just turned a deal down at WHU as it'd mean he'd have to take a pay cut and only earn 60k p/w. Could Hull afford to pay a 31 year old Centre half that kind of money?

He grew up a Liverpool fan but decided to take the money instead.
