I may be wrong here, but I don't know of many clubs that would have a press conference arranged in advance of sacking a manager, unless they had the replacement in place already, which would be a massive insult to Megson. Can't see it myself, but then it wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong!

Whilst I have no problem with the bloke on a personal level, it is clearly time for a change before the situation becomes irretrievable.

Prior to the Blackburn match a couple of weeks ago, SKY demonstrated that Sam Allardyce's net spend was only a little over £1million in his time at the Reebok.

Gary Megson's net spend in a quarter of the time is in excess of £14million - he spent over £10million on one player alone (Elmander) and has another three or four for whom he has paid £4million+.

Not in the top-spending bracket I agree but not limited resources either.

The City fans on the forums seem to like it. It appears that senior management (Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Garry Cook, Vicky Whatshername and others) are determined to improve the matchday expereince, as well as listening to what fans want. I bet you wish you supported a club that treats its fans so well. I doubt I would be happier supporting any other club.

Won't go into the game as I'll only be accused of only posting after a win despite the fact most people accuse me of posting only after a defeat!:)

Khaldoon strikes me as an excellent chairman. He is very in touch with the fans and what they want from a season/match experience. Although he obviously came into the job with little knowledge of the club, I do know he snapped up copies of all the avaialble books on the club to research the club history and get in tune with what being a supporter of City is all about. I'd be amazed if some of the chairmen out there knew a single fact about their club pre-Premier League.

Garry Cook does a great job for the club. I was at the Supporters Club Dinner when he dropped his embarrassing gaffe but I genuinely felt for him as his rousing speech up to that point had been a ten out of ten job. He is not a City supporter and people need to realise that. I'm not even convinced he cares that much for football. What he is though is an excellent CEO and that's all I'm bothered about. If there is anything history has told us, it's that having died in the wool Blues handling the top jobs at the club, is a recipe for disaster. Garry Cook will not let his heart rule his head. It's a pity sometimes his head doesn't rule his head but you can't have everything.

I've spoke to Vicky Kloss in depth on a couple of occasions, once on the radio show and once when we were all sloshed at the do last week. She is a lifelong Blue and, in her particular role, that is probably more of an asset than a hindrance as she doesn't have to make business decisions. She is an excellent communicator with the fans and, more importantly, she has got an absolutely first rate set of knockers! :D

Bullard possibly out for 6-8 weeks. Could have been a lot worse. It still could be.

Exactly. Some people and pundits are tipping Ivory Coast on the basis of the likes of Drogba, both Toure's, and Keita. But then when you look and see that the likes of Eboue, Meite, Zokora, Dindane, and Kalou are regulars, it's clear they are just as plain as us if not weaker throughout the rest of the side/squad. Not every position needs to have a world class player in it in order to do well.

Even the Brazil squad has players like Elano, Lucas, and Baptista floating around the first team, and they're most people's 2nd favourites. On paper, there's only Spain that look massively strong IMO.

If you are referring to the Keita of Barcelona, he is from Mali. Therefore he is unlikely to have much of an impact on the Ivory Coast side.

Still, I guess I should enjoy you and others talking England up as it just makes it more enjoyable when they screw they up and the inquest starts. :D

If you cant indulge in a spot of "talking up" fantasy after the draw when can you? Most of the talking up comes with a healthy dose of pessimsm. I reckon at least 90% of English fans still expect us to exit the competition following a QF penalty shoot out. Hence the press time devoted to the missed penalties by English players at the weekend.

For really excessive talking up you have to go back to 1978.

Your small minded jealousy of being from a nation with no good footballers is now getting in the way of your ability to read a post. Carl didnt big up England, he said we are on a par with the Ivory Coast who in his eyes arent all that good.
