I'm by no means an Everton fan but can appreciate how good of a team that was, i mean they beat the mighty Liverpool to the title and had won the Cup winners cup with us stopping them winning the treble with the "Whitesides onside" goal in the fa cup final.

That great side of Evertons that would of won the European Cup in 1986 were beaten to the league by us in 1986.

.....and in 1987 i'd of expected Liverpool to be favorates for the European cup again. Like i said in my first post English football had dominated europe for the best part of a decade what reason would there have been for it to change within 12 months?
