O'Brien just said he possibly didn't train him properly for the race, and maybe wasn't fit enough.

Why didn't he say that this f*cking morning? After training horses for as long as he has, he is bound to know when a horse is at the top of his game.

Cost me a bit in that treble waiting and that blows the double with Shumoos already, even more gutting when O'Brien says he didn't train well enough!

Hopefully Shumoos can save the day and recover some of the losses.

don't you just love these hype-horses? Nice profit on the race, could have been more if I took Planteur on...But the horse has been on the go for months, he needs a rest, and yet o' Brien is thinking about the Eclipse. MADNESS. Regarding the winner, personally, I'd aim him straight at the Arc, he will take months to recover, and alongside St Nicholas Abbey, is lay material in KG back at Ascot.

Regarding Frankel, he's being aimed at the International at York. NO,NO,NO, he does not settle well enough, even more lay material...

Plenty of trainers do just that, especially o'Brien, don't forget Coolmore are all about breeding, it would have been 1 hell of a stud fee for SYT if he had won. Regarding "hype", take Frankel; Since Mister Baileys in 93, 10 horses have clocked faster times than Frankel in the Guineas, in the St James's Palace Stakes, 7 have clocked faster times than Frankel since Grand Lodge in 94, most of which will be run on good, fast ground, and yet, Frankel has been hyped up as the next Pegasus.

Imo, this year's 3yos are a poor bunch, with Frankel the best of the lot.
