That's an impossible thing though. However, for the AC Milan home game, there are quite sufficient plans to stand out for the first 10 minutes. A great visible impact, and possibly a logistical impact, as I believe the kick off would have to be delayed with mass numbers of fans outside the ground. This is a more realistic and achievable protest than a full match boycott.

.

Is that how they're doing it? Must admit I just assumed that most fans would enter the ground but stay on the concourse for the first 10 mins of the match.

Either way the safety implications seem horrendous as fans rush to take up their seats. If they do delay the start wont the fans feel obliged to stay outside until 10mins after the revised start time? A delayed start in itself will not be that effective as a protest.

There's a few possible plans, including standing on the concourse and standing out of the ground.

A delayed start wouldn't have the same visible effect, however "unfortunately the kick off has been delayed due to thousands of Manchester United fans outside the ground" would still send a message.

Is it feasible the fans protest could make it impossible to stage the match safely? 3-0 to Milan?

Temptation, greets you like your naughty mate,

But one that you could never bring yourself to hate.

In the short term the campaign achieved what it set out, but it was a falsh in the pan and unfortunately Cowell still controls all things musical in the UK (pretty much).

On the broader discussion about the anti-Glazer campaign, of course there are problems in organising and trying to get rid of such a powerful family like the Glazer's but I'm just glad United fans spotted the danger from minute one and tried to act to stop it and are continuing to beat the drum of protest of now. On the flip side Liverpool fans could not wait to bend over for their American owners and now they are all up in arms in opposition to them.

People took different stances in how to oppose the takeover and the split in the fans was certainly damaging but some of that thankfully seems to disappearing now with the new momentum behind the green and gold campaign. I was part of the 'not one penny' group but fell back into going after 4 years. Now every time you see some of the total goons populating the terraces at Old Trafford it makes you more determined to stop our club becoming totally over run by the sort of people who don't know why there is a minute silence on the 6th February.

The new momentum in attempting to get rid of the Glazer's, getting chubbed for the Milk Cup Final despite being raped for both Wolves and Tottenham at home and attending both the aways, the continued and ever increasingly awful way United are treating the fans, the inevitable price rise and the almost pointless nature of a season ticket is making me unsure whether to renew next season. Might just get a membership and do the Euro aways, the odd away game and the decent home games.

Die Glazer!

Fella, you are making yourself look a complete prick by making statements like that. When the Americans bought us, most Liverpool supporters I knew were disappointed that they came in, they knew we needed the unlimited funds of the Arabs. The Americans raised hopes with their early promises and big talking, but in less than 12 months the majority of our supporters had turned on them. Maybe the Liverpool fans you know bent over for the Americans, but the ones I knew certainly didn't, furthermore, the majority of United supporters I knew weren't fussed on the Glazers taking over. Of course, I'm not stupid enough to tar all with the same brush.

Okay, so the Glazers have suddenly decided that they don't want to put up with the awful strain that the Green and Gold campaign is putting on them. They are prepared to sell the club for it's fair market value.

I don't know how much the club is worth at present, but the last figure I saw mentioned was roughly about £800m.

So you've got three "Red Knights" each willing to stump up £200m. The Red Knights want the rest of the MU supporters to pay the remaining £200m

Now what?

Are you hoping these Red Knights are handing over £200m out of the goodness of their hearts, or are they in it for a profit as well?

Not a complete sample of course but certainly none of the large scale hostility that accompanied the Glazer takeover: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/low/football/6335845.stm

Don't remembering any demonstrations against them taking place either. . . .

Let's be honest, 606 isn't the view of Liverpool supporters as a whole. Many were sweetened early on by their big promises, but the majority knew all along that DIC was what we needed, massive investment to come in, fund a stadium and transform the squad. Some people thought the Americans would do this with all their talk early on, but it didn't take people long to realize. The majority of Liverpool supporters who were happy, were only happy because they thought we'd finally get some kind of investment, that we'd finally start catching up on United and we wouldn't have to 'sell to buy' every summer. But, they were wrong and the Americans have screwed us over. Some fans might have bent over for the Americans, but there were large portions who were unhappy and were wary of the threat they posed to the club.
