Torres has never had a season like Rooney. I told you all a few years back Rooney was the main man at United, even when Ronaldo was there. I think Rooney has passed Torres now, he can do it all. I don't think he has a weakness.

That's the point, Owen has won more in half a season at United than Torres has in 3 years at Liverpool. In the end it may be the reason the young spaniard leaves the club.

In what respect?

As a goalscorer/finisher? Before this season I would have said yes but I think Rooney isn't far behind now that he's been given a proper run as a true centre-forward at long last.

As an all-round, complete footballer? Not a chance.

Could "El Nino" play on either flank with the effectiveness that Rooney has done in the past? Would/does "El Nino" chase back and help out his defence as Rooney has/does?

And isn't he a bit old now to be called "El Nino"???

I reckon Gerrard was the mastermind behind the bugging of the England hotel and picked up something really juicy about a top FA man. Its the only possible explanation
