Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 : Fri Jun 18, 2010 8:53 pm
I'm not too sure why Carragher is taking so much stick, for me the defence was solid enough tonight.

In attack however we looked clueless as soon as we made it to their box. Heskey shouldn't be there; the opposition have realised he doesn't have the confidence to even shoot, let alone the ability to score, so their not concerned about him. Rooney has been poor both games, and his comments, although clearly just a sign of frustration, were unwarranted; as has been said, England fans pay a hell of a lot of money to go out there, if they see rubbish on the field, they have every right to boo at the end of the game.

Capello is not doing himself any favours. His claim well in advance of the finals was that he would pick players who are playing well, and playing regularly. On that note, why are Wright-Phillips or Heskey anywhere near the squad? I don't agree with the calls to take off Rooney tonight; let's face it, he's still our best chance of making something, but changes should have been made earlier than they were. For me, Lampard has been poor both games, I'd have had him off by the hour mark today. Get Joe Cole on to give us some real width on the left, and allow Gerrard the freedom in the middle to do what he does best. Swapping Lennon for SWP was just a total waste of a substitution.

I still think we'll qualify, but a last 16 exit at the hands of Germany is the best we can expect, unless we scrap this 4-4-2 rubbish, and get some enthusiasm.

Yes thats correct Rooney isnt fit and needs leaving out until he's ready. I still cant fathom how on earth Emile stayed and Bent is sat on a beach somewhere.

The italian mafia needs to grow a pair a make the right decisions for the country.

Question is which country

Rooney is an overpaid prima donna...t0sser  fans have saved £1000s to go watch that poop

We HAVE to win.

You know your in for a ride with England but the last 2 matches especially the last one is taking it to a whole new level of pathetic. If they don't get a result in the next game they will go down as the worst England team ever in a World Cup.

Yup, they were very stupid comments. He was clearly frustrated but he should know better. He earns more in a week than most fans earn in five years.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 : Fri Jun 18, 2010 9:00 pm
Rooney is a great player, sadly for him he isnt fit and his confidence has slipped. He shouldnt be playing But Mr Italia wont grow a pair and tell him until he's fit then he wont be playing. Crouch and Defoe would be the answer at the minute, whilst Crouch isnt pleasing to watch at times he does bang them in for England.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 : Fri Jun 18, 2010 9:01 pm
James - did nothing wrong.
Johnson - good going forward, can't defend. Nothing new there.
Carragher - if we did the unthinkable and made the final, he's have to be probably the worst player ever to play in one. Of all players to persuade out of international retirement, why pick one who was never good enough in the first place?
Terry - sloppy, but not terrible.
Cole - had little opportunity but one of our few threatening players.
Lennon - don't understand why he was picked out to make way first, really. Was given little opportunity to shine.
Lampard - steals England caps, send him home now.
Barry - started well, clearly not fully fit though.
Gerrard - get him in the middle FFS. Our best player by a country mile.
Heskey - beyond words.
Rooney - stop sulking long enough to find your game, mate. Try Manchester Airport check-in desk.

Capello has done a very good job with the England team right up until the stage it really counts. Impeccable timing to have a mental breakdown. Picking on form my ar$e.
