Newcastle went out with a whimper. Appalling 2nd half. At least they can clear out the dead wood. If you're a Newcastle fan you've got to hope that they don't slide into financial oblivion.

As for Hull City, they did remarkably well to stay up. Had their season been reversed Brown would have been hailed as a genius. As it is, as much as he has to take credit for their start, he must take a lot of the blame for their pathetic finish. He's also come across as a classless tool.

It'll be very interesting to see how Hull and Newcastle go in their respective leagues next season.

Latics were superb today against Pompey and should have had 2 or 3. Think Pompey could struggle again next year as they were really poor today.

Biggest cheer of the day though without doubt was when Newcastle went down

my dad said latics were quite good. he said he was surprised only 17 odd thou turned up tho (he was one of plenty who got free tickets).
where do you think latics need to strengthen in the summer?
got to be disappointed with the finish.
when i was back home the fans were going on about european football at the jjb.
