Big race of the summer today - the King George, looks a bit one sided but Daryakana can go well at a big price (as mentioned by Wire 85 she's 7/2 W/O the big 2 which looks a good price to me).
Big sprints are more my cup of tea at the min though and there's two of those today. Yet to look at the Ascot race properly but there's one I like up at York.
15:40 YorkTombi - Some will remember me putting this horse up in the big 6f sprint at Ayr last November, the Ayr Gold Cup. He ran exceptionally well in that race to lead home his group at a massive price (40/1 available in the morning), but sadly for us he still finished out of the placings on the day. He's had a couple of starts this season in a higher grade and over an inadequate trip last time out and has been dropped 5lbs since that run at Ayr last year. The horse loves York as can be seen from his course record (5 Runs, 1 win, 2 2nds, 0 3rds, 1 4th). His only unplaced start over the course cam when beaten under 4 lengths by the Group 1 placed Dream Eater in a listed event last August, his previous start at the course was a length beating by Group 1 and Group 2 winner Regal Parade in a conditions race over 7f whilst he's won CD handicap off just 6lbs lower and been placed off 102 over the course in the past (two Group 1 placed Lesson In Humility). I rate his jockey for today Silvestre De Sousa very very highly and he rides York particularly well (8 wins in 49 rides, £64.00 level stakes profit) and also has a good record in sprint handicaps. Howard Johnson's string have been in decent enough form over the past couple of weeks and he's top rated on the Racing Post Ratings.
Advice: Tombi 3pts win, 1pt place @ 28/1 (Bet365, Boyles, Paddy Power).Martin
