Two for today:
15:05 Navan - That Beats Banaher - Four time winning pointer who made little impression in his one Maiden Hurdle start. Connections were very quick to switch him to fences and after his more promising third run in a Beginners Chase (for which there was an official explanation) he switches to handicaps for the first time. Useful conditional Bryan Cooper takes off 5lbs and takes over the mound from Brian O'Connell and taking into account Cooper's claim races here off 104, the only doubt is the heavy ground but he looks worth chancing at 16/1 with Coral and Totesport.
My other fancy today is Speak The Truth in the final of the Blue Square Sprint Series, he takes on some in form rivals due to the nature of the race and the fact that he needed to qualify for this final but has been running well and hasn't gone up the handicap as much as some of his rivals in the race. He's been dropped 3lbs since his last start earlier this month behind Norville and he's very versatile when it comes to race tactics so I expect from a wide draw they'll aim to drop him in behind and come with a late run. Matthew Davies is unable to ride today so Nicky McKay comes in for the mount. He's a best priced 20/1 with Bet365 and looks worth an each-way bet, despite the presence of some in form rivals old foe Norville rates the main danger in my eyes.
