The visit of the Carnegie Challenge Cup to SouthCravenSchool at Sutton-in-Craven near Keighley was captured by Yorkshire regional broadcaster BBC Look North earlier today.
Journalist Paul Ogden, who is based at BBCâs Leedsâ centre, came out and captured footage of the Cup visit to South Craven School as well as the schoolâs win in the three-way round of the Carnegie sponsored Champion Schools competition.
South Craven emerged victorious after games against SettleHigh School and GeorgePindarHigh School from School from Scarborough.
Cougars Head Coach Barry Eaton plus the clubâs development staff were on hand to both referee some of the games and organise the dayâs proceedings.
Ogdenâs brief was to illustrate Cougarâs commitment to their community programme and player development programme as well as flag up this Sundayâs Carnegie Challenge Cup tie against Castleford Tigers and showing action from the worldâs largest Rugby League tournament.
Helen Carter, the Cougars General Manager, said: âWeâre delighted that the BBC decided that the event at SouthCravenSchool was worthwhile enough to send one of their sports staff out from Leeds.
âItâs important to clubs like ours that our work is recognised and people throughout the regionâ.
It is hoped the coverage may be included in the âLook Northâ programme on Friday, 3 Aril 2009.
