we do not see the bar running out of change and there are plenty of notes handed over there.
To be fair , i wouldn't bet on this ....
I've been behind the bar plenty of times when we have been down to giving 5ps in change .
However in defence of both the bar and the gate , I would say it is remarkably hard to estimate what change you need . I can only speak in terms of the bar (but I'm sure its the same situation on the turnstiles) , but there are some weeks when we look to be overwhelmed with change and then have it all go in a moment as everyone pays with a twenty quid note and others when we are remarkably short of the silver stuff but it all works out OK.
We all (bar, gate & raffle man ) try & work together to keep each other supplied with change , so please work with us ,( I see people in the bar quite often when asked if they've got any change pull out the correct coinage that would pay for their pint ,instead of the twenty pound note they are offering in payment !).
No one is trying to make life difficult for anyone , but to be fair getting change from the bank does cost money , you all put money into the lottery ,
KC Club , Shirts , Bars n whatever , n I'm sure keeping a spare pound coin or two in change to ensure an easy passage on the gate will be no hardship
