Civic reception for the Cougars. : Mon Oct 05, 2009 12:12 pm
Co-operative Championship One Grand Final winners Keighley Cougars have
been invited to a civic reception by Keighley Town Council to celebrate
their victory over Oldham at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington
yesterday.
The reception will be staged at Keighley Town Hall on Wednesday, October
7th at 6.00pm and it will be preceded with an open top bus tour of
Keighley town centre by the team.
The open topped bus, which is being provided courtesy of Keighley Bus
Museum, will leave Cougar Park at 5.40pm.
It will then proceed via the Asda Roundabout to Keighley Station,
Cavendish Street, North Street, Worthway, Hanover Street and Cavendish
Street before arriving at the Town Hall to be greeted by the Mayor Cllr.

Helen Carter, Keighley Cougars General Manager, said: "We're delighted
that the Town Council are going to afford the club the honour of a civic
reception.
"It was an amazing event in the club's recent history and we like to
think that besides crowning an amazing year for the Cougars that the
victory reflects well on our town as well putting a spring in the step
of the townsfolk.
"We're an ambitious club and we regard this as an important step along
the way in the development of our club and business".
