Cougars new star player Chris Baines is enjoying pre season training as well as starting his new job as Sport Development Officer at the club.
Baines said ‘Although holidays are nice I have been itching to get back to training.’ Baines joins Tom Burton, Sam Crowther, Richard Jones and Craig Moss as the Cougars new recruits for the 2010 season.
Baines feels confident about the upcoming season ‘Personally I felt I had a good season last season at Oldham and I hope to continue that for the Cougars this season, we’ve got a strong squad who can work together and challenge in the Co-operative Championship.’
Chris Baines has also taken on the role of Sports Development Officer at the club which will see him targeting the North Yorkshire area within the Aireville School Sports Partnership. Chris will look to develop links in to Craven and going as far as Colne. With increased participation he will aim to link in to all local amateur clubs. Commenting on his new job the 25 year old said ‘I am really looking forward to getting involved in the Aireville School Sports Partnership and working for the club to promote Keighley Cougars and rugby league in the area.’
