From the club.On the 30th November Keighley Cougars held there second primary school tournament of the year. The sports development staff from Keighley Cougars have been going into four schools from the Ilkley Grammar school cluster. The tournament is the culmination of the six week coaching programme that is being delivered throughout the year in the Keighley and Ilkley primary schools.
80 children aged 10 and 11 from Addingham, Burley Oaks, Burley Woodhead and Ben Rhydding took part.
Ben Rhydding were victorious for the girls and Burley Woodhead won out of the boys. Both teams now go on to play in the Champions of Champions Tournament.
Sports Development Manager Tom Hall said ‘The tournament was a great success with everyone getting to use their new skills they have learnt in competitive situations. I must thank Pete Blackwell and Dave Duxbury who helped run the festival.’
