Sporting Chance Raise over £1300 for JAM Fund. : Sun Jun 06, 2010 5:59 am
The young people on the Keighley Cougars Sporting Chance project have raised £1310.59 for the Jamie Adamson Memorial Fund by taking part in a 17 mile bike ride.The eight young people set off from Bradford Bulls home ground Gratton Stadium then cycled to Bradford City's Coral Windows stadium before arriving at Cougar Park to do a lap of honour around the pitch before the Cougars took on Barrow Raiders.
Youth Project Worker Jonny Presley said 'On behalf of the young people I would like to thank Richard Taylor from Active Coaching UK who trained the young people for the sponsored bike ride.'
Sporting Chance hope to raise £15,000 for the JAM fund which raises money for children with life threatening illnesses, Jamie's Grandad Gary Wilks said 'As a Keighley based businessman and lifelong rugby league fan the link with the Cougars and Sporting Chance is really special to our family charity. Many thanks to the young people of Sporting Chance for making such a great start towards their target.'
