Do you mean the "us signing from fax" bit or the

Joking aside, we have actually had one or two decent players from fax over the years, apart from Greg " I love myself" Austin.

Joking aside, we have actually had one or two decent players from fax over the years, apart from Greg " I love myself" Austin.

n we would have loved to have kept austin at the time. visits halifax a few times these days when over to watch his son play for rotherham united i believe.

There was a 6 month period when we had Austin and Nick Pinkney in the centres when we'd score a length of the field effort every game. It was brilliant it was like they were trying to out do each other.

Then IIRC Austin demanded a stupid amount of money, went to Huddersfield and did nothing but run us down afterwards.

Did't he go to Salford first?

My lasting memory of him is that tackle by Stoopy at Old Trafford. Absolute classic.

You mean the one, where Stoopy get dragged out of position, only to recover it and still have time to tackle him. Dont think i will ever forget the look on Gareth Cockrains(sp) face as he realised what a wonder tackle Stoopy had just pulled off.

Or are you on about the one on the other wing, where once again Stoopy had him in his back pocket. This one was near the end of the game.

Last one. A perfect cover tackle. Austin was so sure of himself he was almost celebrating until our bionic postman clobbered him.

Must admit i think the other one was better.
To recover like that and still get the tackle in was fantastic.

Not sure, I was only about 12 or 13 at the time

I do remember Stoopy pwning him at Old Trafford though

And quite a few chants of "Austin! What's the Score?"
