Cougars on the prowl again. : Mon May 11, 2009 4:12 pm
Keighley Cougars Head Coach Barry Eaton has confirmed that he hopes to recruit two new players for the Co-operative Championship One Club.
The Cougars are anxious to reinforce their squad as the 2009 Co-operative Championship One race hots up.
Eaton said: “We’ve been having talks with one experienced back and considering making a move for an established forward.
“Our squad has been badly hit by injuries this season and then there is the continuing frustration for the club of not being able to achieve a work permit for Brendon Rawlins, who has been back in Australia since February 27.
“This is a very competitive league and we want the best possible squad at our disposal as we seek to secure either promotion, or a play-off spot.”
Eaton added: “I can’t comment on the identities of the players but we’re hopeful of being able to secure one of them in the near future.
“If the negotiations are successful then it’s possible that he could be available for our home game against Swinton Lions on Sunday”.
