On the telly game on thursday, I think it said about five Leigh players are 'dual registration' from Wigan; just ringers really, it seems very unfair to the rest of anyone who has anything to do with Leigh. Apparently they even do nearly all of their training with the SL outfit.
The Sky TV panel thought it was a good idea, but surely it's only a very cynical and short term solution for Leigh (or shoud that be 'Wigeigh?) and can only really benefit Wigan?
Be interesting to hear what Leigh fans think, certainly the majority of Cougar fans seem to be against it.
dont be cheeky.as supporters we'd prefer to have nowt to do with them down the road.sometimes needs must but not this time
seriously though we've got 4 D,C players 1 from st.helens jacob emitt[forward]absolute work horse.3 from warrington blyth[centre]
mitchell & MCcarthy[forwards]i thought blyth & MCcarthy did ok on thursday[first game out]emitt does the hard yards but its mitchell who's got everyone buzzing at the moment he's played 2 games fev & barra & put 3/4 massive hits in.to be honest i'm surprized how easy they've made the step up from A team to CC level without doubt they've enhanced our squad.
now for the down side they can be called back anytime the owner club needs him as we found out with MCcarthy last week & widnes found out with ainscough who was taken back to wigan then instantly loaned out to cas which for me is really taking the pee but as you say this is initiative was setup to benefit the SL clubs long term not us.finally i will say i'm glad we've got these players & i hope its for the season but if saints & wire do take there players back it could come back & bite us although when our three props are back from injury we will still have a strong pack.
p.s i think they do all the heavy work with the owner club & a couple of days with us doing ball work.
