Although I don’t ‘twitter’ myself, there was an interesting article in this week’s ‘League Express’ about the use of Twitter.
It relates to the way in which ‘tweets’ are made and the standardisation of hashtags and how these were identified, especially on the Twitter homepage which shows a 'trending' list of the top ten things that people are twittering about.
A key comment in the article was:
‘Many individuals and organisations have already exploited Twitter to become better known, building up thousands of ‘followers’ to track their ‘tweets’.
But sporting organisations have been relatively slow to utilise this new form of media, particularly in England.’
There are other comments including League Express agreeing to include a ‘Tweet of the Week’ in their ‘Highlights of the week’ on Page 3.
So why don’t the Cougars take another lead and ask our supporters to use a standard hashtag when they tweet? How about:
