At the last fans forum it was mentioned that the club had budgeted in way that.
1) Paying fans (not including season tickets) would pay players wages and they expected 1000 would pay at the gate for every home game.
2) We would win one third of our games this season.
Part 1 we were nowhere near (about 500 IIRC) which is why they were desperately trying to attract more fans down.
Part 2 We've won 7/21 games in all competitions so far this season and realisticlly are looking at 8 or 9/27 wins for the season so around a third.
The maths doesn't look particularly good. What was mentioned was the revenues streams from elsewhere, bar sales, catering, etc was covering this shortfall.
It would therefore make sense to have a clearout at the end of the season but not now. To surrender before end of the season would only serve to alienate even more fans and be counter-productive.
Which leads me to believe regarding Daley it isn't anything to do with money, it's something else.
