In case anyone has forgot, the 2nd team played just 24 hours before sundays game. They had an important game on saturday, so why is Barry going to jepardise their playoff hopes by taking one of their halfbacks. Plus not all the 2nd team are not signed professional.
To say he & he alone lost us the game is rubbish, its a 13-a-side game, not 1-a-side game. The commitment in the 1st half wasnt there & Barry rightly questioned that after Havens 3rd try.
On the subs, when playing, I would have thought that he would leave that to Glen and Matt.
And who set up Hutchinsons try to level the game?, Barry Eaton.

With all due respect to the reserves efforts this season, when there's hundreds of fans paying through the gate to watch the first team, selection should always be prioritised for that.
When time permits, I pay to watch both. As an ex-coach myself, I refuse to critise Barry & support whatever decision he makes on game day. If the 2nd team have a chance of some silverware, then I wouldnt expect that to be jepardised for the 1st team. Why should it?.
Barry cant be faulted for what he has done with cougars over the last 5 years.
I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!
Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.
Is it a case of Quote:'If I don't play then I'll take my ball home'?
Do you honestly believe that about our coach? Have you ever talked to him about why he sometimes picks himself??? I have always found Barry to be very approachable and honest with the fans so go on, try it - ask him why he picks himself.
In the after match speech he was man enough to take full responsibilty for the loss, no hiding, no excuses.

I await the criticism from those who think he's still as great as he was.
Do you think you are the only one who should have an opinion?? This is a discussion forum after all
I personally think he should have hung his boots up last year, but I also believe that when he picks himself it's because he feels he has to, rather than wants to.
When Jones and Presley click they are awesome but unfortunately they do not always do so. Presley in particular has been targeted this season and just seems to have lost confidence and form. There was a rumour in the crowd that he has gone to another club but I have not heard anything to confirm this.
It was a very poor team performance, they all need to have a good look at themselves. Did the forwards feel safe in a new contract? It would have been interesting to see how we would have played had contracts not been offered yet.

Because Andy in this instance it was our chance not to finish bottom. In the admittedly unlikely event of something happening along the lines of what happened with Leigh profiting from Gateshead's financial woes last season it would have been worth a hell of a lot of money to the club.
With Oldham supposedly not allowed to go up also, this result could well come back to haunt us.
It was nice to see a coach stand up in front of his own fans after a loss and take full responsibilty for his players actions and the loss. We have a coach who seeks to blame everything and everyone except himself for our performances. Always found Barry Eaton very approachable, talks a lot of sense and has done a marvellous job with you guys this season. It was not his fault you started at minus nine but he has done his best to try and save the day for you. Always enjoy the visit to Cougar Park look forward to seeing you again next season.

So what you are saying is we didnt play our stongest squad! As a paying supporter i expect to see the better players on the pitch, wouldnt you say? As for Barry,i agree but this was a game where the young guns should have played so the fans can see what to expect next season.
If we play a weakend team next week we will get hammered, simple as
we showed no passion or commitment and very little skill. only one team wanted the win
we are not good enough to give teams 20+ points start. perhaps barry should not have offered contracts for next year until the season was over. DJs spark as gone out. barry's personal performance wasn't any worse or better than the rest, although i do question his motivational influence on the team at the moment.
So, after supporting Keighely for over 50 years, why am I berated for stating the obvious?
Jermaine Wray was awarded the MOM after playing only half the game and our coach, whatever position he decided he was playing (mostly at cenre and disrupting the general game plan), played the full 80. Does anyone actually believe that, at his age, he is far fitter than any of the players on the pitch and can actually play the full 80?
Poor old 'Buster' he must be really knackered as must Jermaine (our International) - after all they're only fit to play half a game each throughout the season! Pity, when all of the supporters around me seem to think that they both should be on the field for the full game. Obviously our super-fit (?) coach seems to know better! After all, he only needs to miss tackles and shout - Oh! I forgot - and play away from the tackles (at centre) that lead to tries for the opposition.
When we're going to be relegated then why does he persist in playing himself instead of GIVING YOUTH A CHANCE? How can they ever gain experience?
That's my point!
Roll-on (sorry about the forthcoming pun) Barry in his wheelchair when he still thinks that he's good enough to play for the first team at 50!
If we don't have any second team players that can slot into the first team then, God forbid, we might as well start supporting the 'Dulls'!!!!!!!!!!! (Only joking! - I'll die supporting Keighley but, hopefully, not on the treeaces).
I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!

Why do you think you are berated, this is a discussion forum. You know - where people have different opinions, or do you think 50 years of support gives you special rights No one thinks less of you for your input, it would be a boring place if we all agreed.
Most people, including myself, feel that he should have hung his 1st team boots up last year and I can only assume he has his reasons for still playing.
As I have already said, I suggest you go into the bar after the match and ask the man himself, he is usually very approachable. Or do you fell better being an anonymous keyboard warrior
