Bramald seems obvious choice if for nothing else it will bring minimal disruption for the players.

If he does not get it Demetriou would be my choice he is also a goal kicker and with Danny Jones gone who will take on this mantle.

Martin Crompton has proved to be good coach as well.

I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!

Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.

Anon.

Isn't Dan Belcher a pretty good kicker?

I can see positives and negatives for most of those in the frame, but I would not want the club to break the bank on someone who is untried and tested. Remember, Barry came as both player and assistant to Peter Roe before he got the coaches job. I am not sure we could afford to do that again.

I don't mind getting someone who is experienced and ambitious as long as they don't spend all their time searching for other jobs (like deacon did).

As others have said, it will be interesting to see who is picked and how the choice is rationalised to the fans by the board.

I seem to remember that Chris Baines was a pretty good goal kicker whilst at Oldham, the Grand Final excepted of course!

Doesn't read as if he particularly wants to come to Keighley though, does it? I'm not sensing much commitment to the cause, more the pay packet...

Hope and pray that its not Gary Thornton. If you want training sessions that involve sitting in the changing rooms for half an hour talking about the weekends t.v. before a brisk jog round the pitch, established stars or talented young players stripping of all ability, and game plans written on a piece of A4 paper containing insightful gems such as 'Stuart Dickens is a big man, tackle him', then he's your man.

I love it how the "journalist" who wrote that piece has just copied all the names linked with the job off of this forum and put them in his article.

To be honest I'm not keen on us signing a guy who will effectively be reneging on a contract he's just signed.

It lacks ethics and integrity and if he's prepared to do that to York he may well be prepared to do similar to us further down the line.

I'd give this guy a wide berth myself.

That seems a little harsh.

I am not sure that he would be renaging on a contract, I am sure he would have a "get out" clause should a coaching role become available.

It seems, from press reports, that he and York have a very good releationship and it is stated that everything would need to be right for him to take the job.

That said, I dont think that he is the right man for you. If you are very serious about winning the league then you have to get an experienced coach, which he is not.

I don't think he's right for us either. Doesn't seem to particularly want to come to Keighley. What about giving our own guy a break, after all he knows the squad and it's strengths and weaknesses, surely he deserves a chance?
