Barry Eaton, the Keighley Cougars Head Coach, has confirmed that the Co-operative Championship One club will allow Scotland World Cup forward Neil Lowe to leave the club.
Lowe was left out of the Cougars first team that played Blackpool Panthers in a league fixture on Sunday after turning down an opportunity to play for the reserve team against Whitehaven on Saturday.
Eaton said: “Neil didn’t leave us with any alternative after refusing to play for the reserves.
“No one is bigger than the club and we have a culture at the Cougars of everybody playing for each other.
“If any player is not prepared to go along with that then it’s better for all concerned if they find another club.
“We’re now willing to listen to offers for Neil.”
Eaton is also prepared to make halfback Craig Fawcett available for loan spells at other clubs.
He explained: “Craig is still very much part of my plans but, unfortunately, for him he’s stuck behind two halfbacks Danny Jones and Jon Presley, who are playing particularly well at the moment.
“When Craig didn’t get into the first team after the early rounds of the Northern Rail Cup we discussed the possibility of him being allowed to go on loan if he were to be offered an opportunity.
“Craig’s too good to be restricted to reserve grade rugby league and he needs to be playing at first team level more often than he is at the moment.
“But I have to stress that Craig is being made available only on a loan basis”.
