Keighley Cougars have confirmed that they have allowed their Scottish international back row forward Neil Lowe to join Co-operative Championship One rivals Hunslet Hawks.

Lowe joined the Cougars from York City Knights in February 2008 but has been unable to command a regular first-team place in recent weeks.

Barry Eaton, the Cougars Head Coach, said: “We’d like to thank Neil for all he’s done for the Cougars and he goes to the Hawks with our best wishes”.

Neil was a member of the Scots squad that played in last autumn’s World Cup competition in Australia.

Cant say I'm over bothered , he had lost the respect from myself and dare I say it a few others as well as upsetting the dressing room which is never good, for the games he actually wanted to help the cougars in I thank him but other than that I'm not interested.Im guessing there must be a mcdonald as close to the south Leeds stadium as there is cougar park.!!

Whilst its a shame Neil has gone as he undoubtedly is a talented player,Barry handled it correctly by making public the fact he refused to play in reserves will be picked up by other players which can only be good.
