Under 18's National League: Keighley 34 Celtic Colts 30 : Sun Nov 15, 2009 5:58 pm
In a cracker at Cougar Park. The National U18's side came out winners against the champions. Luke Whiteley got the ball rolling after 6mins to put Keighley 4-0, but a couple of eras saw Celtic edge infront. But Whiteley then grabbed his 2nd of the game, converted by Callum Hudson, then Ben Stead then scored under the sticks and converted himself to put Keighley infront at the break.
After the break the sides swapped the lead 3 times with Jack Cawood scoring in between Celtic scores. Keighley were on the attack again and Sam Walker was certain to score when the ball was stripped while Walker was going down, a try was awarded, Stead kicked the conversion and the extra kick infront of the sticks for a rare 8-point try and the Celtic stand-off sinbinned for his infringment. Hudson made the game all but safe with a converted try of his own. The visitors scored the last try, but it was too little, too late.
