I'm afraid this will be a Widnes win, but hopefully pick up a bonus point. Att - 3182.

I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!

Bonus points will be vital for us this year.

I've just found it difficult to gauge how good we are in the games we've had so far. Widnes will be a real test. I obviously want to win but would be reasonably happy with the one point.

As a Widnes fan, I have read some of the posts on here and as much as I admire your optimism, reality hit home today. We scored 72 points without some of the big names and we very rarely came out of 2nd gear. now either you guys had a really off one or we are in for a great season, because quite frankly we could score at will and 955 of your side looked like amateurs. I really hope you stay up, but it looks like a long hard road ahead.

You lot are always quick to preach when you're on top but were after going home and hanging yourselves after the start last year. I'm sure your words of wisdom were already realised with out you rubbing it in and pretending to care.

Actually I DO care about proper clubs like Keighly, just found it interesting that some of your fans thought that a club that has started the season of on the back foot and hasn't signed many Div1 standard players, thought they could snatch a win from a side that beat last years top side without playing well. Without getting into a slanging match good luck for the rest of the season(apart from the return fixture) I was hoping to get a bit of feedback and debate !!

Re: Next Three Games : Sun Feb 28, 2010 11:15 pm
I think the problem today was the difference in size. We ourselves have been bullied by teams in this division in the past, but this year we seem to have learned our lesson and built a side around a big pack. Even the players we had out wide today were big - both centres and both wingers were all over 6ft and 3 out of the 4 probably weighing over about 15 stone.

I had read that a lot of Keighley's wins have come off the back of being very physical and basically bullying the opposition. Maybe the reason why Keighley looked so off the pace was purely due to the fact that they found it hard to play the way they normally do and possibly didn't have a plan B?

I think if Keighley are to compete this year, they're either going to have to find a different way to play or they need some reinforcements in the middle of the park. Credit to Keighley for keeping going, but for their sake, I hope that a lot of the sides with big packs, dont just blow them off the park early on in games.

Pretty fair comments. Beaten by a bigger, faster, better side.

Now it depends if we can learn from this and if we are capable of doing anything about it at this level.

It will be interesting to see how Widnes go this year, they were hot against us but they were not without weaknesses in the few times that we had them on the backfoot. We could not sustain pressure but I am sure Barrow and Halifax will.

It will be an "interesting" season
