Last Saturday (13th March) was the first rugby league girl's festival to be held in Keighley. Keighley Cougar Prowlers hosted 27 teams in Under 12s, Under 14s and Under 16's at South Craven School. The festival was a great success with Prowlers co-ordinator Dean Muir saying "All the girls played outstandingly and rose to the challenge in playing in front of their home crowd. The girls have shown great improvements across all age groups. We have to thank all our sponsors, Joan Kenyan, Adams Café in Keighley Market, Nigel's Fruit N Veg Shop in Keighley Market and a special thank you to the tournaments main sponsor Azeems Restaurant."The festival was focussed on the development of girl's rugby league with the emphasis on participation rather than competition. "We also want to thank all the parents for their support and help to make the festival a success." said Muir.
The Cougar Prowlers next tournament is on the 27th March at Farnley, if any girls are interested in joining the club please call Dean Muir on 01535 606044
