The young people of Keighley Cougars initiative Sporting Chance are doing a 17 mile sponsored bike ride on May 3rd to raise funds for the JAM Fund charity. The young adults are starting the bike ride at Bradford Bulls ground Gratton Stadium and continuing on to the Bradford City ground the Coral Windows Stadium where they will be picking up memorabilia on their way to give to the JAM fund to auction off.
The bike ride will then continue all the way to Keighley with them due to arrive at Cougar Park just before the Cougars game kicks off against Barrow at 3pm. The eight riders will then complete the bike ride by doing a lap of honour around the pitch.
Sporting Chance gives young people in Keighley and District the chance to fulfil their potential through a range of activities such as rock climbing, mountain biking and work experience placements.
Youth project worker and Cougars player Jonny Presley said “The young people have been training really hard in preparation for the ride and deserve a lot of credit in supporting such a worthwhile cause.”
The JAM fund supports children with cancer and other serious illnesses and was chosen as Sporting Chance’s official charity. The young adults have been busy raising money; if you would like to sponsor the young people please pop in to the office at Cougar Park.
