Keighley Cougars winger Gavin Duffy has been named in the Rugby League World team of the month for August. Duffy’s contribution to the team effort, whether it be returning kicks with determination or rounding off moves with style, has been crucial as the Cougars aim to stave off relegation to Championship 1.

On hearing the news Gav said; “It’s nice to have been picked for the team of the month, I feel I have performed well in the last few games. I hope I can continue to do well and finish the season on a high and earn myself a contract for next season.”
The August issue of Rugby League World is on sale now.

Well done Gavin, having known Gavin and watched him play since he was six I congratulate him and know he has the skills to be a top player.

Gav embodies everything great about our team.

He isn't the most skillful, neither is he physically blessed with great height, size or blistering speed.

But he more than makes up for in pure tenacity, he's like a little Tasmanian Devil out there, never stops trying, never shirks anything.

Cracking little player who's deserving the plaudits he's getting.

Not only that he came upstairs after the game gave my son an autograph (and Brendan) and they both said some nice things to my boy, it made his birthday

Class act, Tackles above his weight. Improves month on month. Loves the club and would probably play for nothing. Against Leigh he was outstanding but for me the Blackpool game summed up Gav.
