http://www.bradfordbulls.co.uk/bullspledge.aspx Is this going to attract yet more fans off us?
The premise being that
if they can get 10000 to commit to this, a standing season ticket will be £60, half what ours cost to watch Super League
Obviously I won't be buying one but you have to say that is an amazing deal.
Is this a threat to the Cougars? Can or will the club do anything to compete with it? A similar copycat deal on a smaller scale perhaps?

Your dam right its a threat to us.
If you are a family just getting into the sport, what would you rather pay.
Mind you, this is clearly showing how bad things have got over the hill.

I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right! Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness. Anon.
It is a truly spectacular deal, or is it a publicity stunt?
Will they get the 10,000 applicants they need to guarantee this price? What happens if they don't get the required numbers? Will they end up upsetting fans?
I would imagine that this is based on the get them in cheap then fleece them scenario and only works if they can continue to attract them each week. The team will need to hit the ground running play attractive rugby and above all win at home. After the break even point (first 4 home matches) will people continue to come if they are served the dross they have seen this year? If they don't the plan falls apart.
Whatever happens it has people talking about the Dulls and its a brave move, but do they have a cash crisis??

Call me a cynic but it is a pie-in-the-sky stunt.
Their average 2009-10 season attendances of 8,520 includes away fans and in my experience they have often matched if not outnumbered the home support.
It would take every attendee,
including the away fans , plus some extra to reach the 10,000 target.
That's just not going to happen.
Although I do occasionally go to the tip as an away supporter, I'll not be taking advantage of their kind offer.

I think 10k is an easily obtainable target.
It's not to long since they were getting 12-15k on a regular basis, and due to the fact that they are getting a decent new coach and getting rid of dead wood players it should be easy to sell at that price, regardless of the past couple of years worth of rubbish that has been served up

Is it a pre-condition that the 10,00 'fans' have to stay for the full 80 minutes?
Or, will they be allowed to leave (in 'true
Northern tradition') whenever they are losing and unlikely to win?

The football club managed to pull off a similar gimmick a few years back.
I don't see why the B*lls can't manage it.
They're getting the marketing right. They've managed to blag the back page of the Target, again, to promote it, stealing the thunder of the Cats, who should be there for winning the national title.
It's funny how the Aire, Worth and Wharfe Valley Target always seems to promote clubs that aren't based in the Aire, Worth or Wharfe Valleys.

Well, I might have been proved wrong... But I'm still a cynic
