I think what we are seeing is a bit of spin here by the Widnes board. Reading between the lines it seems that what is driving this exceptional profit and turnover is a write off of director's loans. It is a sad state of affairs when fiddling the accounts or attendance figures (Halifax?) is more important in the modern game than what happens on the field.
Why don't we don't we just bring each clubs set of accounts out at a match and we can cheer the respective balance sheets?
