I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right! Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness. Anon.
A very enjoyable read. There were a lot of players who played the game hard and fair and with enormous skill, but there were also those that went out to deliberately injure an opponent. Not so sure I would want to go back to the days of watching your best player carried off with a broken jaw.
This aussie site also has some good stories from both sides of the pond
http://www.eraofthebiff.com/ and is well worth a read.
I don't mind a bit of biff as long as its fair. If you type in "Terry O'Connor v Gorden Tallis fight" on a well known video site you'll see a beauty. Its also interesting what Tallis has to say afterwards

We had a couple of the hardest here at Keighley in Big Brendon and Smokin' Joe Grima.
Sometimes you can't beat a bit of biff.
Shame you don't see it as much nowadays there was a decent scrap at Leigh though last season. The atmosphere went up about 10 fold afterwards.
Both cracking websites mentioned here, well worth a read. I'd recommend this blog as well
www.propforwardsunion.blogspot.com Might have to report Shick to them for sidestepping the full back last Sunday.
