If you are going in a big car then the A68 might be an interesting route - there are a few tight curves on that route just after the border.

On average I find the A1 route is about 20 miles longer and 30 mins quicker but the A68 route is a lot more picturesque.

A1 all the way Snowie lad, more time in the pub
A68 a slow road in a big car, been that way a few times and if you get behind owt slow then your stuffed, only picturesque view i wanna see is the scoreboard with us winning
