O/T Tickled Pink Breast Cancer awareness (SPONSERS NEEDED) : Thu Feb 19, 2009 7:28 pm  

Hello fellow RL Forum Members I'm sure that most would of heard about this charity, and most would of heard of Stanley Rangers .
Well beginning at the end of July a series of special events including galas will be taking place involving all the year groups from 8s upwards.
The main idea Stanley will change their kit for this one off event and like Oldham last year will play in Pink/Lilac .
these kits are not cheap as you can imagine so this is another begging bowl appeal to try to fund the under 9s kit and under 11s (i have chosen these 2 year groups as many off the users of wakey RLFans have kids in these 2 groups)
sponsors can be bought for shirts and shorts but time is running out as the kits will have to be made soon.
any other ideas greatly welcome and this will get attention from all media corners ie local papers,RL Publications, Local News and rumour as it SKY tv and maybe Boots n All.

I think the fact that boys of theses ages are prepared to wear "girly" shirts for a good cause is commendable and this should be an excellent event.

remember if you don't know some poor person who as or is suffering from breast cancer the likelihoods are you will one day.

Events like this can help to provide better lives for suffers and help detect the signs earlier witch can lead to better recovery . and maybe just one day help prevent this cruel and terrible condition from affecting ones we love.

these gala days are going to be a great success, the lads are all geared up for playing in the pink strip but find sponsor are trickie at the moment with companies watching their money, as far as I'm aware they can get tax relief? not sure how it works tho,
I've lost one sister to bowel cancer, and my other sister has gone through breast cancer and his been given the all clear, she looking forward to come and watch our lewis play in july

These events are there to raise money for the charity, and the whole club need to be commended for this initiative. The stanley club will be the first amateur club in the UK to play the full season in the kits from under 8's to open age, so well done and good luck to all

yes the club needs a big hand for this IMHO, makes me 101% assured my kids are at a very good club indeed

Have you tried going to the media to get publicity to try find a sponsor?

some already , but every age group needs to fund sponsorship and that's a lot of groups

I've tried touchline, real radio through flipper, I hope he can manage to convince them, bit harsh me asking someone else to ask for me but he should know who to ask, I would be running round in circles not knowing who to ask, my loved one ask her bank but that has found too many obstacles that will allow them to help,
its not so easy to find them, I keep trying got some more that may help

The missus:
Our Gala Fun Day will be in May hopefully!!! will confirm the date later
Each age-group are selling raffle tickets at £10 each, the winner of each age-group will get the main sponsor on the front or back of the shirt - whichever is your preference
U10's & U12's winners will also be presented with a framed shirt
Any-one interested should contact the Club as you have to be in it to win it - £90 and you could have a chance at having your company or name on the front of all the age-groups shirts
