Thinking of driving up on the day and coming back after the matches on Saturday,anybody else doing the same and if so what time are you setting off in the morning to get there for ??

we (The hummers) are doing a daytrip i dont know what time , it depends when we kickoff.

Its about 165 mile so you'll need 4 hours plus and i'm told speed cameras are all over the place when you get up there, so maybe a little more time needs to be added.

I think the hummer starts to cruise at 7-00 in the morning, plenty a time to get up there

It's been quite a few years since I did the journey by car, but it was always a 4 hour minimum, unless you drive like an idiot. I know it starts at Rotherham, but this may help.

Personally I would head towards the M6 then M74 and across on the M8. Have been the A1 route before and came back M6 and found it lots quicker.

I'm staying in Edinburgh for the weekend. Realistically, it is too far to go for one day (having learned the lesson from the Harlequins away match last year). Plus, if anyone is visiting this amazing city for the first time, trust me, you need more than a day to see its wonders.

Agreed - but not as interesting.

If you want a nice amble, go the A1.
If you just want to get there - go West young man!
