Hopes for Frankie : Tue Mar 31, 2009 7:58 pm
I was thinking the other day - I miss Solomona. there I've said it, not the man but the player. Heck he was exciting to watch in that first season. The team of 2004 was IMHO not as good as this one. We have some great youngsters coming through, a couple of old stagers in Drew and Martin, a mecurial player in Brough, a powerhouse in Atkins and I could go on. But we don't have Solomona or a Solomona type player, a go too player as it were.

Now I don't think Winestien is Solomona, we will not be that lucky again for a while. However he may have those traits, I have no evidennce for this I'm just hoping and going on what I've read. It would be nice to think we may have stumbled on a gem even if it isn't a full on diamond.

One thing I hope is that Frank is a bit lively, one thing folk forget about Solomona is that he was a tough bloke. He knew how to get in the ribs of the opposition and I think we might need one of those this season. He also worried the opposition, we never knew what he would do next and nether did the opposition. Any player as disliked as Sol was by opposing fans must have been doing something right!

Here's hoping, we are due some good luck

My sources saw and spoke to him on saturday night and said he was a very big looking lad so he should be powerful enough and from what we have heard from over the pond he is likely to be very lively too

From what I have been told he sounds a bit like Latu, lively and certianly creates some problems for the oposition.

Really looking forward to seeing this lad in action, he will be unknown to most supler league clubs and I am sure he will suprise a few.

Good offload game, with some pace and a player who likes to create lots of chances for the backs, just what we need :D

If I'm right we only have signed till nov 2009, seems a short period are looking at extending it when we see how he plays?

I saw him training the other day. He is a tall rangy lad and looks quite athletic. He seems to have decent pace and ball skills.

However unless its me getting very old, he still looks like a kid. He may
prove to be a very good signing but he isn't the new Solomona, not yet anyway.

He will need a lot of time to settle in and he has a long career infront of him so lets not get our expectations too high for the moment.

As I said I don't think he is the new Solomona - we are not that lucky. Just hoping he adds a new dimension to our play, mainly a bit of size.

And yes PB you are VERY old, you make me look young

Worrying about our new stadium and the future of our club has put years on me.

However over the last month or so I can feel myself getting younger
