Not the same since it changed from a b&w broad sheet. The last time I looked there were pages and pages of adverts and puzzles with very little actual local news apart from a usual double page spread about what's going on at Pinderfields. As someone said , not even produced in Wakefield for years. The Trinity news all seemed to be gleaned from The League Express anyway.
Express Sport was local when Frank Jeffries was the long standing reporter. Young John Fieldhouse was the last local reporter I can recall. Both regulars, with other Express staff, in The Mitre on Southgate.

Steve Heptinstall took over from John Fieldhouse, Steve was an Eastmoor lad and was the last local sports reporter at the Express as far as I know

Good info. I lost touch with the Express lads when The Mitre got closed as part of the pre Ridings demolition. JF would get me in to some away games free on his Press card, if the gate people were easy going enough. Unbelievably a lot larder getting in that way than when Michael Hunte lent me his players pass when he travelled with the team.
I would like to know @ what stage if the council says it's their money is there a time limit ie, 3 or 5 yrs or 10 yrs. What puzzles me is that 106 agreement was given by the vendor of York court to provide a ground etc to wakey T, & not to the council coffers for them to generally fill their coffers & distribute as owners of that money, yes legally they operate the 106 etc. Further more, lot all the other 106 agreements for all specified things like roads, buildings & any other property, does that mean they monitor their money to those schemes & own them & control their value & use as they see fit, at what stage does control & ownership cease ?

Their job is to ensure the money collected from developers is used for the purpose it was intended, in this case funding for new facilities. It is not their money or investment.
The real story is why so much of these S106 payments has not been allocated for the purpose it was asked for?!
