I kinda agree with Vasty. You are right about what he is doing but he's got a long way to go yet.
Some great ideas for West but I'll believe a rooftop bar when I see it.
And it's not a competition. He's building on the back of the other guys. They clearly couldn't do what he is doing as they didn't have the money but equally no one else got us from admin to profit making business or built a new stand.....and a lot had a go.
You will believe it when you see it, when this guy says he's going to do something, he does it and he does it quickly and well. You are right by the way, he doesn't need a cheer squad but you are first to jump down the throat at anyone saying a single word against a couple of blokes that drove the club into the ground and drove away fans left right and centre. Props to Minards for his work to get the east stand over the line, they did a lot of good work in acquiring the ground, making us financially stable etc, but they got a hell of a lot wrong and If I'm honest and it's my opinion, the things they delivered, I don't think it's anything that Ellis wouldnt have made happen and probably quicker and better. I'm just thankful we have an owner with a vision and passion for the club l, that is willing to back the club and knows how a successful business treats it's customers. Let's not forget carter was out after last season anyway, as much as everyone clings onto the fact he saved our club, if it wasn't for Matt Ellis I dread to think where we would be at as a club right now, shiny new stand or not...

By saying he doesn't need a cheer squad I wasn't having a go at Ellis. Quite the opposite
I only defend them, and others, when people try to use the anonymity of this page to say things they know are untrue. I'm no fan of Carter personally, apart from his accounting credentials.
In terms of the rooftop. Again, it's not that I think he won't do something. I just think, when it comes to it, there are better options than that. He may agree but he might not. My opinion doesn't really matter as he's the boss.

Think it's a bit strong to say the 'drove the club into the ground' when initially they did quite the opposite! MC saved the club in its hour of need and JM fought tooth and nail for the ground improvements. OK they got a lot wrong and the change of ownership was overdue . I for one haven't forgotten what they did.

Is it? If Ellis hadn't acquired the club, I wonder where would we be right now? I seriously dread to think, as I say all hopes were pinned on the shiny new stand and someone to take it to the next level, in reality we are very very lucky Ellis was there and willing. Ellis is the best thing to happen to this club by a mile in recent history hands down and we have posters so hung up on our saviour they'd rather have a d*** measuring contest over who's done what, we can be appreciative of what others have done but it's time to move on, I wonder what has to be done for anyone to get any credit about anything without a "yes but Carter and Minards saves our club if it wasn't for them..."

The problem is. People keep saying things like "they drove the club into the ground" which draws a response.

AGREE If Mr Carter had not stepped in ,there would not have been a stadium for Mr Elllis to buy ,just house's for every body to buy .And for the record just love going away in the Championship along with a 1,000 plus supporter. And it is great to see bell view near full with season ticket holders ,and fans still have a go at the Stadium not been up to scratch .Were a professional rugby club not a professional football team ,We are lucky to be in the place we are Pity some so called fans can not see this .We own the Stadium How many S L clubs own there stadium. ,and all so how many championship teams own there ground and like ours is fit for S L if we get there
Carter sucked the life out of the club and only ever looked at ways to save money. while giving alternatives a wide berth. He sucked the ambition and life out of trinity and even evaporated hope. Cap in hand management from a sold out accountant. Overstayed his welcome by 7 years.

Nail on the head for me, especially in that last sentence.
Don't gwt me wrong, he did some good in the earlier years, but certainly stayed on too long.
Another observation Ive made recently, when Ellis has encountered a hurdle, such as the floodlights or water supply, he rolled his sleeves up and got on with sorting the issue with minimal fuss or ado. When, previously we've heard the blame card, before solving the problem.
Cash always helps, thankfully Ellis has plenty and is prepared to use it. Carter and Minards had relatively little and weren't.
As others have said, let's just focus on the affect an owner with funds will have upon the club. We know the issues of the past, let's look forward and enjoy the ride.

Isn't it a good job he did? Because no one else came in over that 7 years.
I still don't get the need to try and prove something when actually most don't know the details and none could actually do anything about it. We are lucky Ellis has the resources and drive that he has. More power to him.
