Brough knows exaxctly what he is doing abput negotiating his signing on fee or his new contract - money matters the most (by a hell of a long way) in Danny's life at the moment. This finance position holds the key to where he plays. Nothing else maters to him.

Devils Disciples required - No initiation ceremony needed just enter AJ Bell Stadium on Gameday to be accepted.

Re: Brough and Cash for Cooke? : Sun Jan 03, 2010 8:15 pm
A bit of loyalty towards our players would be appreciated - as we expect it from them.
It was on October 1st,last year, that John Kear was quoted in the press about the likelihood of Danny signing his extension, here.
On 5th November the news broke about the potential for a winding-up order.
It may very well be that the current situation is beyond the control of Danny and as such any anti-Danny statements may not be conducive to confidence building in the squad.
My opinion is that Danny deserves this season with Wakefield and I would much rather Danny
was putting his hands on silverware than any other half-back named on this thread from outside the club.

Reading between the lines it seems lad13 is suggesting the financial worries is the individuals rather then the clubs.

Still, as long as he remains committed throughout the season then I think the club would be daft to cash in. He was signed for nothing so what’s the big deal if the club lose him for nothing. I don’t see the desperate need to get 100K or so (very unlikely given he is in his last year of contract) other then the tax bill which appears to be under control.

With whole lotta love
We worked for one year for you pigs
And you wanna break our walls down
And you wanna destroy
Well you go to hell

Let him go, cash in I say. Take the money now and run, if some money is available of course - we have survived before without him and we will survive again. I imagine he is the sort of player to make waves arround him if he is not happy, cannot afford to upset the balance and ethic of the side for him.

Better the devil you know!!!

Cooke has more baggage than a baggage handler at Heathrow!! Rovers thought they were getting a player worthy of paying a huge sum to - why else would they be willing to let him out of his contract with them early if he was worth it???

Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole!!

Makes me sick just thinking about him wearing Red White and Blue, one of the few players, along with Ryan Bailey/Gareth Hock that i would not wish to see at my club.

I'm sure plenty on here would disagree but there you go.

Cooke? 4-5 years ago, maybe. Since then he seems to have gone backwards and doesn't come over as someone who takes pride in his performance, so I'd rather not. if Kear is interested, he must be very confident in his man management abilities.

Hock - yes, in a flash. Everyone deserves a second chance after a moment of indiscretion, for what in the grand scheme of things was a minor offence. If when he returns he can still play like he did before (he tore through our team on several occasions), he'll be fighting off offers from clubs with a sh|tty stick.

Bailey. Simple no. Has ability, and a one time looked like he could be excellent. Seems he'd rather trade off his ability in order to be an average player and an absolute knobber.
