There will be a good strong supportive turn out on tues by Wakefield Trinity supporters and by the unemployed who are seeking and want work. What a great opportunity for the youth of today who want apprenticeships in the construction industry, and people who want work in the Hotel and commercial sectors etc. 500 construction jobs and 2000 jobs created upon completion of the development. Surley its government policy to reduce the dole que in the Wakefield area where figures are totaly unacceptable.

Thats spin if ever I saw it. I have seen this referred to but being realistic wharehouse units dont emply large numbers of staff completely the opposite infact. The good news is there will be opportunities for people to get work and with people working it will be positive on the local economy.

The 2,000 and 500 numbers are widely quoted and are based on full occupation of the site, but yes, they are achievable.

IA have you seen the 67 page document on the council planning portal from June Fender and co. There are all sorts of allegations from Box having a conflict of interest cos he used to be a consultant for the firm who cleaned the NM site up, to your letter of support being riddled with inaccuracies and at best misleading!!!

Just wondered what you thought of it all.

Imaterial Wakefield council are intersted in creating jobs that cost nothing and tick the right boxes. The outcome of the enquiry will be purlely a government decision and not a Wakefield council decision.

Re: The Public enquiry outcome : Fri Dec 02, 2011 12:09 am
I've just had a read of that 67 page document and they should have basically called it 'NIMBY' a case study, it's comical to say the least. I love the bit where they state that, Trinity don't need a stadium because Cas have one and apparently if we joined in with them, it would automatically be built.
The amount of far reaching statements they come out with is unreal, they're even still trying to make out that match days will cause problems for Pinderfields hospital A&E department, they don't seem to understand that match days aren't played during rush hour and the majority of the time on the weekends.
