Well if fans get up there, say 3/4 k from each club and back the teams/players then the whole concept it will be fine, you can do the day for £35 if you want to, now i understand that some just can't find that money and have famillies to consider but i'll bet 500 plus Wakey fans spent that in the pub on Sat, the same ones who moan about £18 quid to get in at BV with a £3 quid bottle in their hand.
i thought we took a decent following, as we did to cardiff last year, went up on the day easy to get to 4 hours with a stop so fans have options if they get off there backsides. if they can watch in the pub then they could save up and go its a year away
the money people spend isnt the issue really, never can be for me after the amount i spent in canet du plage last year!
My issue is mainly the change in focus of what is what there for, originally it was for promotion of rl and over the weekend the focus became just how good it had been as an economic stimulus, so in essence we played 7 random games to stimulate scotlands economy?
and 10 million is a lot of cash, over 3 years its easily a purpose built rl stadium for the game as a whole, location, well you can argue that one for ever and a day.

True, but hey we are Wakey fans after all and we prefer the moan option

I couldn't afford to go Al, too much expense even at £35 on top of spending every week throughout the season to watch us, although I tried to watch it on telly and I have to say that the standard on show was very poor made worse by the lack of atmosphere that came over, I even found it difficult to get excited about our game, in fact I'm ashamed to say that I found the Cardiff v Leicester game more compelling, I would have been greatly disappointed had I spent money to go up there to watch having seen the lack of quality on show.
I've noticed somewhere on here, someone compared the MM weekend to the G/F and how long it took for that to build up to what it is, I think the point that they're missing is that at the time the only other expensive away day or weekend was for the CC final, now the MM weekend has got far too much to compete with in our own sport never mind everything else that families can find to do on a B/H. Can't see how they can possibly make this any bigger than it already is when they are depending solely on existing fans to support it.
BTW, I take it from the 27 text messages that the pork pies went down alright
The problem with the Magic weekend attendence figure is that at no time during the day all the fans will have been in the ground at once.
Spot ON
This is the what the Rfl or whoever have to try and combat in some way thing of something to get the fans into the stadium to help create a carnival atmosphere.
The only down side for me is that Murrayfield is a fair bit out of Edinburgh & the pubs are raking it in with £3.50 a pint
What happen to this sports village thing where was it did it work
At least again it give the RFL something to look at and finally get it right for next year where the Atkinson family will be deffidently be there

for me its a celebration of our game, fans can mix together have a few beers and enjoy the day or weekend, i dont give a poop if we pumped money into scotlands economy its a nice place, if fans like you went then we would be promoting the game. attend and then give a view you might be surprised and enjoy it
