Sorry to see him leave BUT I seems he wanted to go, so we move on without him. He ran straight and hard let's hope at this time of year there is someone out there who can replace him.

No it's not. It's an heraldic symbol used throughout Europe but is very prominent in France but the only French bit is the name.

However I'll not be churlish it's highly associated with France though what that has to do with Simon I'm not sure.

Also it's been our city emblem for centuries, used to be on the road signs up until the 70's. It's also on many of our Royal coat of arms.

The cross of Lorraine is the symbol of France. HTH.
