I genuinely think a win against Leeds will boost our confidence massively, because losing is a hard habit to break no matter how good your team, we’ve seen it in all sports. Confidence is key, I remember Leigh a few years ago In the championship were unbeaten and played a very good Leeds side and nearly beat them, because they were playing with such confidence. I’ve said before it’s as if we’ve forgotten how to win.
True,
Two seasons ago we played like we wanted to win, now we play like we are trying not to lose. It's a subtle difference but it's there. The former promotes confidence within players and within the team, the latter makes players desperate not to be the one who cocks it up.
No lack of effort, just a lack of belief or confidence. It won't make us a great side but it will make us a better one. Had we taken those two chances against Leeds on day one I suspect we'd have beaten Cats at home and be sitting on 4 points. All about taking chances and getting breaks.
