And of course, if you can do better, crack on

Charlie I am sorry I offended you and I should not have spoken out the way I did. However I pay my money and forgetting all the rest ,I feel the rugby side of the club is a shambles. Numerous bad recruitment decisions time after time. It's just my opinion and I may be talking out of my Harris and things are far better than I see them. Let's hope this season can be saved as you seem to believe, I just think we are done and it will be a long hard road back into SL . So if the person(s) running the club are incapable of keeping us in SL , it will be tough task for them to get us back. That's my opinion like it or lump it.

According to RWB Army, we’ve signed Ashton Golding

If you have signed Ash Golding that will be a massive coup and he will make a big difference to your fortunes this year, the lad is an absolute class individual who will bring a lot more than just his on the pitch efforts (which are considerable wherever he plays) He is incredibly positive and enthusiastic about everything he does, and i've never heard him be negative about anything or anyone. He is exactly what you need.

I was so so relieved when you bought Gaskell from us, what an utter waste of talent, he is plenty good enough to be an SL half back but will disappear or miss a match with 'injury' whenever and wherever he can, and is exactly the player you DON'T want when you are playing badly and need inspiration.

About the game last night, we are playing exactly like we did last year, we barnstorm up the pitch making impressive yardage and then have utterly no clue how to get over the line. We had the worst conversion rate of plays in opposition 20 to points by a mile last year and that is continuining. Jake Conner is meant to be the golden bullet to solve this issue but i'm not convinced. We have no pace in the spine at all, and with Conner we have only got slower. We needed a running half and a better replacement for Levi than the journeyman Peats, and i don't see us doing much against the pacier sides in the league, we already got ripped apart out wide by Warrington.

Some positive signs tonight in relation to attitude and desire after pretty much waving the white flag against Wigan.

Kersh I thought was outstanding and I felt having a bit of pace at 1 over Gaskill meant we had a better start to our sets.

Thought the usual suspects put in strong shifts and obviously the defence was much improved.

In my opinion our biggest downfall remains our lack of ability to consistently build pressure and the lack of pace in the halves.

It’s very frustrating watching us get in good field position and fail to convert that into a 6 again at least. We also seem to lose composure and come up with an unforced error. Gaskill is a very intelligent player but offers no threat due to his lack of athleticism he is just incredibly laboured as he makes way around the pitch.

We are generally running good shape in attack but it’s just slower than other teams which allows the defence to react.

I don’t like to pick out individuals but Atoni is a player that needs to have a word with himself, he generally looks disinterested and lacking the levels of commitment for a Prop involved in a survival dog fight.

It’s going to take a bit of time but last night was a step in the right direction in a number of ways however it is essential we back this up and move forward again next week at Leeds.

Goulding would be a great addition due to his work rate and he offers a level of athleticism we currently do not have in the squad, hopefully that comes off.

If we get Golding in then for me I would drop Gaskell, Golding FB, smith to the halves and Kay spell with hood.

Fwiw - Kay is one that always give it his all, played FB last night and was still going into dummy half and scooting, he really had a bit of pace to get us on the front foot

Carter, Minards and others, did save this club over recent years, so don’t criticise those who Do, when all the moaners on here Can’t.

Go on then find a post where i’ve moaned about him not spending his own money. I’ll wait……

For the record his loans come from the Glover era, it was the reason he took on the reins, to try and get his pension back. His words not mine, he admitted it on this very board back it the day. You really need to get off that high horse you’ve been recently.

My horse is certainly no higher than the constant moaners on here, if anyone can da better job than our current Directors, then put up or shut up, and no, I’m not happy win the on field performances, but I can’t do anything about that, all I can do is continue to Support the club.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.

Re: Huddersfield next : Sat Mar 04, 2023 10:48 am
Reality is we have played 3 of last years top 4 and are at this point where most expected after 3 rounds!

That said round 4-9 are where we play most of the bottom 6 and this is now where we need to post some points. Season truly starts now.

The Wigan game wasn’t pretty but we were well in with the other two.

Yesterday was a very strong defensive performance in defence. Just need to smarter up in the oppositions 20 and not turn over the ball so early in the set.

The effort was great.

Kershaw and Kay were excellent yesterday, Crowther and Proctor were all over in defence and worked very hard.

Langi was very busy though he got pushed back a little.

I hope the players take heart from that defence and look to build on top of that with some improvements in the attack. If they do points in the league won’t be far away.

Eseh made his debut and I liked what I saw. He drove in well and tackled hard. He made a mistake offloading on the 2nd but it was a pretty good debut and I hope we see him vs Leeds.

If Golding is coming on loan I’d welcome that. I rate him.

I have to say I think I’d try Smith - Lino in halves.

Gaskell last season at 6 we scored very few try’s in the handful of games he played there. I just don’t think he’s a halfback or a full back and some players just aren’t pivotal players. Not knocking his effort though but he’s a centre for me.

Unless golding comes I’d keep the backs the same next week.

Take what we did against Hudds and smarted up making a few improvements and we could see some joy from Leeds game.

Well ,if that's your view fair enough and I respect you as a trinity supporter. However if you can't see Carter has run this club down and we have nothing more than a championship squad then your rugby knowledge is limited in all fairness.
Also can you answer this, if Carter has no money, and unable to raise money, what's the point of him owning the club and hanging around, he offers nothing . A random bloke out of the crowd could do that and offer as much as Carter.

Glad to know that I could wipe out a 2 million det, and get a stadium up to S L standed on my pension .The trouble is with Mr Carter he does not know enough about rugby league and trust is coaches to much . After B Smith left we got J K as overlooker ,The trouble was when he left we started going down hill fast,so when W Poaching took over he had a old poor squad held up by over seas players who had been giving 100% plus 2 or 3 players who were S L standed . Mr Carter then decided to get rid of a of W Poaching though he had a 42% win record the best since the legend D T .Do not no were the advice came to get these coaches in ,but there way behind the 8 ball for S L.There is a saying! get the right tools for the job ,but fail on that by the look of our attacking play ,it is the worsed I have seen before B Smith took over

Defensively, a huge, huge improvement and every player 1-17 was up for the fight.
However, we were really disappointing with ball in hand.
To go 160 mins plus without registering a point, speaks for itself.

It's certainly a step forward though and let's hope that we can keep on making progress.

Kershaw was outstanding, mom for me.

Player power and consultation with senior members of the team saw Poching not offered a new contract.

The team did not feel like they were being coached and certain players pretty much took things into their own hands at the back end of last season.
