I came across a ref today who offered no respect to players or coaches, does this respect thingy work both ways or are we just supposed to give it Mutley.

I'll even name him as you will all know him "MR BEAN" and i offer him no respect and never will

yep and it happens throughout the game al at any level and this official should be brought to book but when men are running from the touchline to argue with a child in a refs outfit then i think that is compounding the situation and makes it impossible to train the kids to "Play to the whistle" .

so in answer to your question al to demand respect you must first off all give it , if you do give it then get none back in return the you must turn the other cheek and give the guy the week after respect as this time you may be dealing with a better caliber of person.

and yes I am guilty of criticizing the men in middle but in my own way.

a very tough game for the panthers this morning played in freezing conditions, both teams scored 4 tries but it was heworth`s goal kicking that proved the difference,my players are a bit down but they are playing without me on the field while heworth still had their coach on the field to give them direction, its tough for them at the moment but in the long runn they will reap the benefits.

thankfully no incidents to report today. :)

sounds like a typical hard game over at heworth.

I can see him being ok ish with younger age groups, but not at 17's as most of them are old enough to know right from wrong and by that i don't mean any disrespect the younger ones.

The guys an oxygen thief.

i think its important the refs get respect but they too have to give it and hold their hands up when they get it wrong.there are some poor refs about but there are some good ones too and we would all prefer the good ones every week but it doesnt happen and never will.

a good ref is an honest ref who goes un-noticed unfortunatly many of the refs feel they are the game star and that goes for super league refs too.

its always a good game against heworth, unfortunatley they only have 9 players and its hard for opponants to combat having to give everyone plenty of game time without weekening the side too much and with a big pitch the lesser players stand out even more so with less players out there.

Totaly agree with you.

Thats fair enough and i like to think all refs are different and i would in no way carry it to the next one, i've done a bit of reffing at Crigg in my time and i know how hard it can be, but i still managed to treat players/coaches with respect in the first instance.

By the way we lost 42-16 and the ref had no bearing on the result, they were by far the better side and deserved the win.

Yorkshire Juniors take tough stance Added 2nd Dec 2008

Yorkshire Juniors manament are becoming increasingly concerned with the unprecendented rise in the number of cases that are coming to their disciplinary meetings this season.

And the league chiefs have warned that they will continue to dish out the heavy fines - or worse - in an attempt to stamp out the worringly high volume of cases that appear before them.

A spokesman for the giant Junior league warned that the management will not tolerate the rise in rule breaking and hinted that, if the current rise continued, it would only be a matter of time until we would be forced to impose much tougher sanctions.

The spokesman went on to say that they were having to organise extra disciplinary hearings as the number of cases was around five times the amount that they were used to dealing with, adding that the disciplinary meetings were begining to disrupt the running of the league and stated,
"It's time now for the unruly element - which is in the minority - to start acting responsibly and act in a proper manner in order for the league management to concentrate fully on their primary duty which is, to supply fixtures for children of ages 6 to 15 year old. We fully support and impliment the RFL RESPECT programme and would expect our member clubs to do so."

The spokesman continued, "The majority of the clubs are well behaved and act responsibly, we as a league management just hope that clubs are not sucked in to this worrying trend of ill discipline.
