Think McGillvary would be a great replacement for Kershaw.
Matautia, I'm not convinced about as he has looked pants at Wire. IMHO.
Thornily has never quite fulfilled his promise and at this time in his career doesn't strike me as worthy of a punt.

Unfortunately all these names are dependent on what deals have been done with current team.
Is Dagger staying? Is Pratt staying? Is Kershaw staying?
Makes a difference imho.

I’d rather have Kershaw than a 35 year old if it can be done. Think this just journalists at their worst. The Wiggin fans absolutely hated Thornley and gave him some major verbals at ours. Same with Matu’autia and Wire fans.

I think Thornley would be a fantastic pick up for the Championship.

He’s a big body and carries very strongly with good athleticism. He may not have the silky skills but he hits great lines and would score a lot of tries at Championship level.

I’d prefer to retain Kersh over Jerry however if that can’t happen Jerry would be a very good replacement.

Matautia is another who I’m sure would go well on the Championship.

The key for me though is the duration of the deals should they come off. If they are 1 year deals that’s perfect any more than that would make me nervous.

Assuming finances allow Personally think we should sign plenty of quota players for 2024 as there are no limits in the championship. Then pick the best of them if we get promoted - worked very well for Leigh

Sounds good in principal, but I'd only look at bringing a player over, if it was a right fit at the time.

It would also be a good idea to invest in our home grown players.

If we are going down the route of plenty of overseas players, how about sorting our spine players, as I feel that is where weve struggled the most, maybe look at your 6,7 and 9 first and build the team around it.

6 and 9 would be the first thing we need to find. We need quality in these positions even if it means using quota.

I wouldn’t personally be happy going into next season with just Gale and Lino as our halves.

Look at the spine the last time we were in the lower division
Holland
Casey
Kenworthy
Southernwood
Fuller

The likes or Croft, Platt, Kershaw, Griffin, Tanginoa, Matautia would be devastating running off that spine

The names banded about so far are better than what we have at present and would have walked into our super league team , so it’s a no brainier for me , they will do a great job for a season or two for us but obviously not if /when we get back amongst the big boys .
